Gilsland Farm Description:
Gilsland Farm was acquired by Maine Audubon through the generosity of the Freeman family in a series of gifts between 1974 and 1994. Visitors on foot are welcome on the property anytime from dawn to dusk, seven days a week, year-round. To protect wildlife and habitat, Maine Audubon requests that visitors do not bring pets to the sanctuary. Detailed maps are available at the Gilsland Farm Audubon Visitor's Center. During winter months, snowshoes are available for rent.

The sanctuary's 65 acres contains a dirt and grass trail network through the marsh along the Presumpscot Estuary. Trails wind gently with a moderate slope through the various habitats. The main trailhead is located near the front door of the visitor's center at the end of the driveway. From there one can access all of the trail spurs and junctions.

Trail access:
Gilsland Farm is located off Route 1 just south of the intersection of Routes 1 and 88. Parking is available at the Gilsland Farm Audubon Center or outside the gate when the Gilsland Farm Audubon Center is closed.
