Discovery Trek: Snow Day @ the Conant Property

Do a snow dance and hope for snow this February!
Join Portland Trails and Ernie’s Cycle Shop for a wintry day at the Conant Property. One of Portland Trail’s newest green spaces, the Conant Property is located in Westbrook. The meadowy area overlooks the Presumpscot River and is perfect for snow-shoeing, fat-biking, and cross country skiing. Bring your gear (and maybe some snow-fort building materials) and have a Snow Day with us! Ernie’s will provide a few fats bikes to demo, and Portland Trails will have snow-shoes available to use on a first come, first serve basis. Board member and Westbrook residnet, Nate Dyer will be leading folks on a casual snowshoe stroll starting at 11:30am.

FAQs:
What gear shoud I bring? You can bring sleds, cross-country skis, fat-bikes, snowshoes, sand toys to build snowforts, and other snow play gear. Please do not bring snowmobiles. If you’d like to roast any additional food over the fire, bring your own!
Where is the Conant Property? The Conant Property is tucked away off of Conant St in Westbrook, right near Ernie’s Cycle Shop. Put the address 99 Conant St into your GPS to find it best.
Parking? The Conant Property can be accessed by METRO Bus #4. You can also park on the street with mind to neighbor’s driveways.
Can I bring friends? Sure! We ask that folks pre-register if possible, but walk ups are welcome! Any walk up particiapnts will need to sign a Portland Trails event waiver.
How do I borrow snowshoes? We have 6 adult snowshoes, 1 child and a few toddler snowshoes available to try. We will be letting people borrow during the event for up to 30 minutes, first come first serve.
Do I have to sign up? We’d prefer if you do, but walk-ups are welcome! Walk up attendees will need to sign a waiver in person.
