On Friday, September 16th, we'll be taking over a parking space for the day, joining other organizations throughout Portland to celebrate Park(ing) Day!
Park(ing) Day is a day when people across the world temporarily repurpose street parking spaces and convert them to tiny parks and places for art, play, and activism.
This year, we're focusing on the theme of land justice – all organizations whose missions are aligned with justice are encouraged to join us! Land justice is defined as "highlighting the inequitable access to land, especially by Indigenous people who have been dispossessed of their traditional territory and by others experiencing marginalization around the intersection of race, class, gender, and other identities."
If you're interested in participating, you can sign up here. Otherwise, we hope you stop by our park(ing) spot!
