Saturday, 4/18: Portland's Earth Day
We can't wait for the City of Portland's annual Earth Day Celebration – this time in Deering Oaks! On Saturday, April 18th from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., join us along with the City and local environmental organizations for a festival of sustainable fun, including live music from the band Leaf, face painting, making seed bombs, bike repairs, and more.
(Psst...this party is just steps from the first outdoor Portland Farmers' Market of the year!)
Wednesday, 4/22: Earth Day!
Happy Earth Day! We kinda think we should all treat every day like Earth Day, but we're happy to have a reason to celebrate our beautiful planet.
We invite you to spend some time in nature today savoring the sights, sounds, and smells of springtime. What's one thing you could start doing – commuting without a car once a week, composting, planting a bee-friendly garden – that's good for the planet?

Saturday, 4/25: Community Trail Volunteer Day
It's time for our first Community Trail Volunteer Day of the year! Not only does it fall during Earth Week, but it also happens to be Celebrate Trails Day! Come together with your neighbors and fellow trail users to get your hands dirty and give back to the trails you love. Space is limited, though, so sign up today!
Saturday, 4/25: Vernal Pools Guided Walk
Another way to celebrate trails (on Celebrate Trails Day) is to join our Vernal Pools Guided Walk, led by two Maine Master Naturalists. Enjoy a slow walk through Baxter Woods and learn about the local vernal pools – seasonal, shallow ponds filled with springtime inhabitants.
