Trail Description

Capisic Pond Park is an 18-acre nature preserve surrounding Capisic Pond, Portland’s largest freshwater pond. Wildlife abounds in this urban sanctuary! The pond is filled with turtles and fish, and the park is ideal for birdwatching. In the winter, the pond freezes over and makes for great ice skating.

Along the trail that runs next to the pond, there are benches, picnic tables, as well as several rugged side trails.

Accessibility Information

The trail is wide and flat on hard-packed stone dust. There is a slight incline from Macy Street to Lucas Street.
