Trail Description

The Fore River Parkway Trail links the Portland Transportation Center bus and train station to West Commercial Street. The wide, paved trail features lovely views of the Fore River. There’s also an out-and-back side trail with natural surface that runs along the edge of the water, offering a unique perspective on this vibrant urban waterway.

Please note that while the Fore River Parkway Trail provides safe access to Danforth Street, it ends abruptly on West Commercial Street—cyclists and walkers should use caution until sidewalk and bike lane improvements in this area are complete.

The trail can be accessed at the end of Frederic St. via a paved path and a crosswalk with flashing lights.

Accessibility Information

The main section of this trail is wide and paved with benches and lighting. This trail does have some mild inclines.

The side trail is unpaved and also has some steep sections.
