Trail Description
Payson Park, managed by the City of Portland, is a 48 acre park next to Back Cove. It’s home to baseball and softball fields, a playground, basketball and tennis/pickleball courts, a disc golf course, the Longfellow Arboretum, and a community garden. In the summer months, it is home to dozens of walk-a-thons and running races that take place along Back Cove. In the winter months, it transforms into a winter recreation paradise with a skating pond, sledding hills, and a ski and snowboard terrain park.
Payson Park’s trails connect to the Back Cove Trail and to the Canco Woods trails via Rosedale Street at the top of the park.
