Trail Description
The Presumpscot River Preserve is a 48-acre public nature preserve along the beautiful banks of the Presumpscot River.
Beginning at the Overset Rd. trailhead, the trail follows a deep ravine until it intersects with the river trail. Upstream (to the left), the trail features several short loops into wooded upland areas and continues under the highway overpass, connecting to Gray Rd. Downstream (to the right), the trail leads to the stunning Presumpscot Falls.
In 2001, Portland Trails and the City of Portland’s Landbank Commission teamed up with the State’s Land for Maine’s Future program to save this incredible stretch of riverside land. A portion of this trail is protected by the Falmouth Conservation Trust.
